We're Awakening

We're Awakening Welcome to my blog! My name is Caitlin. I have a huge passion for music and for my Savior, and someday I hope to become a worship minister. Every time I turn around I get enlightened by someone or something, and sometimes it's sort of a wake-up call :)

"State I’m In"- Needtobreathe

It’s almost summer. I’m sitting on my front porch, iced coffee in hand. The sun and I are hanging out for another hour or so. I couldn’t tell ya where my roommates and friends are. And I’m lost in deep, muddy thoughts. The kind that steal your shoes and leave you walking home barefoot.

And then this song happens. I suddenly don’t mind that I’m barefoot. I don’t mind that life is just a bit confusing. Bills don’t worry me. Work doesn’t stress me out. I’m lost in the foot stomping, hand clapping, table dancing magic.

I’d pay a pretty penny to be dancing with y’all right about now. But until then…

Cheers.

Bing Wrights: Broken Mirror / Evening Sky , 2012

James Harris Gallery is pleased to present Broken Mirror/Evening Sky, a new series of striking landscape photographs by New York based artist Bing Wright. Departing from his usual pared down images in grey palettes, Wright offers us moving skyscape photographs of richly colored sunsets reflected onto broken mirrors. This new body of work marks his first return to color photography in almost a decade.

This was my exact view about 2 years back.  I was driving home from Sasquatch, it was 7am, my friend was asleep and Bon Iver was over the radio.  One of those life moments.

Living on the shore of Lake Ontario, just east of Toronto, photographer Matt Molloy has daily encounters with brilliant sunsets and cloudscapes that he’s been taking photographs of for over three years. One day he began experimenting with time-lapse sequences by taking hundreds of images as the sun set and the clouds moved through the sky. Molloy then digitally stacked the numerous photos to reveal shifts in color and shape reminiscent of painterly brush strokes that smeared the sky. You can learn more about his “timestack” technique over at Digital Photo Magazine and prints are available here.

Some people don’t understand the promises they’re making when they make them,” I said.

"Right, of course. But you keep the promise anyway. That’s what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway.
